  1. Im my experience the best way to fight it is with allopurinol and cochisine, but I could be wrong. Vegan, thats amazing.

  2. Just curious… since it *finally* has an FDA approval (so most importantly is regulated), have you tried Colcrys? My clinic uses it for other issues–a couple autoimmune conditions and more exciting repairing damaged tissue particularly in the lower back where MOST people who come into my office have had an injury.. but in checking out the pharm info, it’s pretty scary how much was sold as “colchicine” in the last 30 years in particular that had no colchicine in it. Regulation=good.

Yeah, it’s amaaazing that all you have to do to correct gout is boom, bunny food dieting… tell that to the tens of thousands who tried that for a year and only got more gassy, more cramped, blockages, fun! Honestly, if the guy was suffering gout for 30 years and diet cured it, gout wasn’t his problem. Insulin resistance, on the other hand, does get taken care of with diet and does come with nerve pain aplenty for many. Granted, I’m a neuro, not a GI, but gout’s not rocket science.

  4. Arnold, I too suffer Gout attacks periodically. I just begun juicing raw vegetables and love the energy and alert feeling I get from juicing. Presently, I drink raw Spinach, Kale, Celery, Parsley with Pineapple and Green Grapes. I feel great. You did not say in your video which foods are good for Gout attacks. Could you write me back sir?

  5. it was in reference to a mention of allopurinol and colcrys… it’s LAME for people to sell false hope. Gout is EASY to treat, and yes, diet is important, but guess what? FRUCTOSE is what increases uric acid levels most, so while it is ABSOLUTELY imperative to toss out soda, sugary food, *AGAVE which is higher in fructose than HFCS* and most of all fruit juice, gout does NOT require a raw food diet, and many who eat a higher proportion of fruits than normal are at increased risk.

Raw food brings its own deficiencies.If you want a be all and end all in terms of what changed, it’s FIBER,bound to its food source,NOT added later(enriched grains),not powder/pills.Raw diets can increase fiber,but lightly cooking most vegetables makes their nutrients most bioavailable&’soak-rinse-cook’ takes out toxins in beans&makes their proteins digestible.Vegan diets still need animal/insect-sourced B12;B12 in kelp etc=not absorbed.Donating blood also lowers uric acid buildup.

  7. That comment made no sense whatsoever. I know that eating fruits and veggies mostly is very healthy. I haven’t taken that route, I’m almost dead.

  8. I didn’t see this part until later. I have a friend, who is black and he’s very obese, over 400 pounds (not sure of his weight). He had gout and has trouble holding a job due to weight and gout. He can’t work right now, his weight is affecting him so much. I know he’s slowly killing himself. I also have a serious weight problem. I’ve heard differing info about whether gout can be cured by raw food diet. If I myself don’t do something, I may also die.

  9. Eating mostly vegetables, yes, is healthy–no one is denying that; no one should deny science, either. All foods are chains of sugars,proteins,etc bound together.*Lightly* cooking makes the nutrients easier to absorb(&kills pathogens),but JUICING only separates the carbs&increases the absorption of sugar chains like FRUCTOSE,upping your liver’s uric acid buildup. A VARIETY is still crucial&should include fatty fish,which DECREASE uric acid over time&DECREASE your body fat content.

  10. One last thing:if you’re worried about “fat” being the culprit,check how the body handles it. Fructose is what turns to fat,NOT fat.Fat is stored as glycogen;so are proteins.Carbs are not all evil; FIBER is what you need in FOOD forms,which is why vegetables are crucial (metamucil only makes bowels softer-the difference between SOLUBLE&non-soluble fiber is important).Fructose,from juice/soda/agave/fruit is what makes people fat.Fructose is treated identically to BOOZE by the liver.

  11. I appreciate your comments.It seems to me that eating any of these extreme,radical,and restrictive diets are not the way to go.They just are NOT sustainable in the long term.

    What ever happened to just eating a low calorie,low fat, high fiber,plenty of fruits and vegetables diet?

    I just think that for most people staying on such a restrictive diet would grow old fast.It seems totally unnecessary to me.Just another gimmick to sell books and supplements etc etc.

  14. As a fellow sufferer of gout i’d like to respond to some of the thoughts here. I began having pain daily in my larger toe during my grade school years believe it or not, but i did not suffer any flare ups. I simply always thought my toe felt broke. Now that i’m an adult and eventually suffered flare ups, I went to my health food store and fortunately for me this young women was not simply set to sell her products, but was well versed on this issue and had a lrg book to aide on medical isues

  15. Wth her assistance I learned to change my diet and as soon as I did I experienced flare ups no longer, and I still do not. I’m still in the process of becoming healthier, but i’m still going to have my Uric Acid levels checked. i have only one issue, i must first go to a physician and be diagnosed.

  16. i forgot to add that i did seek medical attention at the hospital, but they could not tell me why i experienced such pain while walking and why i felt such pain wearing shoes or why i was in such intense pain as a simple plastic comb fell on it. I was simply offered over the counter medication for inflammation. Maybe this had to do wth my youthful age of barely thirty. im now fourtyish . i only received assistance at my local healthfood store, so i will be checking into the healthy posts
